New modular cockpit technology gives more flexibility in the design and features available in a car. For instance, the driver can choose to put touch commands on the steering wheel or the heads-up display. Car owners can even choose where to put multimedia devices like navigation systems, radios and televisions.
If you want a new configuration - even years after you own the car - the modular design allows the dealer to reconfigure the components to give the car a new look and feel anytime you like. The design also uses less space for components and weighs less than other designs - freeing up more space for leg room and giving better gas mileage.
